The Marylebone Bangladesh Society (MBS) is a grass-roots, community-led charity providing much-needed support in the areas of social welfare, education and health needs of the wider community.

The Bangladeshi community in Westminster live mainly in six wards which are amongst the 10-20% of the most deprived wards in the UK and living below the poverty line. Over 50% of the population in these wards are from BAME and Refugee backgrounds. Seventy-eight percent of the children from these wards come from families that receive means-tested benefits.

Our aims are to promote and improve the economic, general health and well-being of the community living in Church Street, Marylebone, Paddington and St John’s Wood. We strive to deliver excellent support services with an emphasis on quality, sensitivity and above all confidentiality to the community we serve.

Our vision is to help build a community where local BAME members of our society have the same life chances as their peers and can play an active, fulfilling and rewarding role in life. We want to see BAME communities thrive, be resilient, and apply their strengths to help build a better society.

Our mission is to bring opportunities for growth and development to those we serve, support people to help themselves, break down barriers that cause discrimination and poor community relations, and improve resilience in the whole of the community in the north part of Westminster.
